ŠKURDA CANYON

The Škurda Canyon rises directly above the old city of Kotor and belongs to the category of dry, vertical canyons. It is composed of approximately 20 vertical drops ranging from 4 to 27 metres in height — all pure rappelling, no swimming. The canyon becomes dry from the beginning of July, which transforms it into a dramatic sequence of technical descents through imposing limestone walls.

The active section is approximately 1,200 metres long with a total elevation difference of 300 metres. Due to the canyon's length and technical complexity, it is divided into three sections; the third and final section is the most spectacular and is the one used for tours.

The exit drops you back into the streets of Kotor itself — a remarkable finish to a remarkable descent.
